I decided to take these tests a step further and have something a bit more practical. Here we have a simple fence and a car driving through it... sort of. I was originally going to make it more realistic, adding nails with Boolean modifiers and constraints so that more pieces would hold together like a real fence, but I think this looks good for now. I may do the nail thing later on.

The car used here is one I got from: www.3delicious.net/ They offer their models for commercial use.

Tools used: Blender 2.68a Internal Renderer with Rigid Body simulation and Bullet constraint tools. 100 frames at 25 FPS. Converted to Flash (.swf) with ConverterLite.

Comments are always appreciated!

Not bad, good fracturing and nice simulation. The only thing you could improve is the speed of the car, so that it actually drives through the fence (because a car with 1.5 tons weight isn't really stopped by a wooden fence)

But still, very nice work :D

Thank you! The car is starting from pretty far back, and there are concrete supports along the bottom of the fence that stopped the proxy upon impact. I'll work on it.
